Choose what clients see

You control the portal card by card from Settings → Portal → Apps. Every app in the client portal is an entry in this list. For each one you set the order, whether it is active, its type, and who sees it. Visibility can be everyone, hidden, or a chosen set of clients, companies, or contact tags. When you hide an app, its address is blocked too, so a client cannot reach the page by typing the URL. Apps whose workspace app is not installed hide themselves, so a card never leads to a missing page.

Open the app registry

Go to Settings → Portal → Apps. You see the list of portal apps with a drag handle, an active toggle, the app name, its type, and its visibility. Open any row to edit it.

Reorder, activate, or hide an app

1. Open Settings → Portal → Apps.
2. Drag the handle on a row to change the order cards appear in the sidebar and on the home screen.
3. Toggle Active off to remove an app from the portal entirely.
4. To hide an app from clients while keeping it available, open the row and set Visibility to Hidden.

A hidden app, one scoped away from a client, or one below their role is also an unreachable address. If a client follows an old link to it, they land back on the portal home.

Show an app to only some clients

Use custom visibility to scope an app to the clients who should have it.

1. Open the app row in Settings → Portal → Apps.
2. Set Visibility to Custom.
3. Add one or more of: individual client contacts, client companies, or contact tags.
4. Save.

Scoping to a company covers every person at that company. A tag lets you group clients however you like (for example, a "Managed" tag) and show an app to all of them at once. A client sees the app when their own contact, their company, or a tag on either matches what you set.

Add an embedded page or an external link

Beyond the built-in apps, you can add your own cards.

1. In Settings → Portal → Apps, create a new app.
2. Set its Type: - Built-in points at a portal page that ships with the platform. - Embedded page shows another web page inside the portal in a frame. - External link opens a web address in a new browser tab.
3. For an embedded page or external link, enter the URL.
4. Set an icon, a name, and the visibility, then save.

External-link cards open in a new tab, so a client keeps their portal session.

Require a minimum role

When client roles are enabled, each app can require a minimum role. Open the app row and set the Minimum role to Viewer, Member, or Admin. A client below that role does not see the card, and its address is blocked for them the same way a hidden app is. Roles are covered in Invite clients & portal roles.
