Attendance

Attendance is a time clock. Staff check in when they start and out when they stop, from their own screen or from a shared tablet in kiosk mode, and the app keeps a record of every clocked span. Turn it on and worked hours flow into payroll on their own, with no re-entry. Attendance is not on by default; an administrator activates it from Apps in one click.

Note

Attendance is not on in every workspace. An administrator activates it from Apps in one click. In the app menu it reads Attendances.

What you can do

  • Check in and out. Staff clock in when they start work and out when they stop, from their own screen.
  • Run a shared kiosk. Put the app in kiosk mode on a tablet at the door so a whole team clocks in from one device.
  • Feed payroll. Clocked hours become the worked days on each payslip. See Attendance and payroll.

Check in and out

  1. Open Attendances.
  2. Click Check In when you start work.
  3. Click Check Out when you stop.

Each completed span records the hours worked. A span you check into but never check out of stays open and counts as zero hours until it is closed.

Run a kiosk

Kiosk mode turns a shared tablet into a clock-in station for a whole team:

  1. Open Attendances and start Kiosk Mode.
  2. Leave the tablet on the kiosk screen at the entrance.
  3. Staff identify themselves to clock in or out, by picking their name or by scanning a badge barcode.

The kiosk carries your workspace's own branding.

Attendance and payroll

This is where the time clock pays off. When Attendance is on, each payslip's worked days are computed from real clock-ins instead of the working schedule:

  • Hours are the sum of a person's completed clock-ins for the pay period.
  • Days are the number of distinct days they clocked in.
  • This line reads Attendance on the slip.

Employees with no clock-ins in the period fall back to their working schedule, so salaried staff who don't clock are unaffected. A clock-in that was never closed counts zero, so if hours look short on a slip, check for an open clock-in.

See Worked days & pay runs for how this reads through into a pay run.
