Directory & departments

Employees holds a record for everyone in your company. Each record is the single place for who someone is, who they report to, and how to reach them. The record drives approvals, time off, and payroll, so accurate data here saves rework later.

Add an employee

  1. Open Employees from the app menu.
  2. Create a new employee record and enter their name and job role.
  3. Set their department and their manager. Grouped views and the org chart draw from these two fields.
  4. Add contact details (work email, phone, address) and a photo so faces match names across the platform.
  5. Attach HR documents to the record: the signed contract, ID copies, certifications.

An employee record is not a sign-in account. To give someone access to the workspace, invite them as a user.

What's on a profile

Open an employee to see their full profile: job role, the manager they report to, and contact details. Keep the profile current as people change roles — every other People app reads from it.

Organize by department

Group employees into departments such as Sales, Support, or Finance. Assign each person a department and a manager. Switch the directory to a grouped view to see headcount per department at a glance.

To see the company structure, open the org chart. It draws the reporting lines from each employee's manager field, so the chart stays right as long as the records do.

Store HR documents

Attach HR documents straight to the employee record. Upload contracts, ID copies, certifications, and signed policies. The files live on the person they belong to, so anyone with access finds them in one place instead of a shared drive.
