Onboarding & offboarding

Employees tracks the work around someone joining or leaving. Use it so nothing gets missed when a person starts and so access ends cleanly when they go.

Onboard a new hire

When someone joins, work through the steps that make them ready on day one. A typical flow:

  1. Create the employee record with role, department, and manager.
  2. Add contact details and upload the signed contract.
  3. Assign the equipment they need, such as a laptop or phone.
  4. Tick off each onboarding step as you complete it.

Tracking the steps on the record means anyone covering for you can see what is done and what is left.

Assign equipment

Record the assets a person holds. Log each laptop, phone, or access card against their name. You get a clear list of who has what, which matters when items need returning.

Offboard a leaver

When someone leaves, follow the offboarding steps to close things out:

  1. Mark the employee as departed and set their last day.
  2. Collect the equipment assigned to them.
  3. Remove their access so they can no longer sign in.
  4. Archive the record to keep history without cluttering the active directory.
