Set up calling

Calls & SMS connects your phone activity to your records. Before anyone can call or text, an administrator picks a provider and configures it.

Choose an option

You have three ways to run calls and texts.

  • An embedded browser softphone. Your team places and takes calls from inside the workspace, with no desk phone or separate app.
  • An SMS gateway. You send and receive text messages through a messaging provider.
  • An external phone provider. You sync an outside phone system, so its calls flow into your records.

Pick the option that fits how your team already works. You can run a softphone for calls and a gateway for texts at the same time.

Configure the provider

An administrator sets up the provider before calls or texts work. The setup connects your workspace to the provider account using its credentials.

  1. Sign in as an administrator.
  2. Open the Calls & SMS settings.
  3. Choose your provider.
  4. Enter the account credentials the provider gave you.
  5. Save and test.

Once the provider is connected, your team starts calling and texting from records.
